How to Enjoy Northeast Indiana During Every Season

Sep 15, 2026

One of my favorite things about living in Northeast Indiana is that every season brings something new to look forward to.

Whether you're new to the area or have called it home for years, there's always a reason to get outside, support local businesses, and spend time with the people you love. Here are a few of my favorite ways to enjoy each season.

Spring: A Fresh Start

As the weather begins to warm up, Northeast Indiana comes to life.

Take a walk through Foster Park or Lindenwood Nature Preserve, browse the YLNI Farmers Market, or spend an afternoon at Promenade Park. Spring is also a great time to visit local garden centers and freshen up your porch or landscaping.

Summer: Make the Most of Long Days

Summer is packed with opportunities to enjoy our community.

Catch a TinCaps baseball game, cheer on Fort Wayne FC, visit the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, cool off with a stop at Crispy Cones, or enjoy one of the many concerts and festivals happening throughout the area.

Don't forget to explore local trails, kayak Cedar Creek, or spend an evening dining on a patio downtown.

Fall: A Northeast Indiana Favorite

Fall might just be the best season around here.

Visit the Johnny Appleseed Festival, explore Kuehnert Dairy Farm's Fall Festival, pick apples at Cook's Orchard, wander through pumpkin patches, or take in the beautiful fall colors at Fox Island, Metea County Park, or Pokagon State Park.

There's nothing better than a crisp fall afternoon spent outdoors with family and friends.

Winter: Embrace the Season

When the temperatures drop, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy Northeast Indiana.

Experience the Festival of Trees, stroll through holiday light displays, shop local during Small Business Saturday, attend holiday markets, or head to Pokagon State Park for its famous toboggan run.

Winter is also the perfect excuse to visit a cozy local coffee shop and slow down for a bit.

Home Is More Than Just Your House

One of the reasons I love helping families buy homes is knowing they're becoming part of a community—not just purchasing a property.

No matter the season, Northeast Indiana has a way of bringing people together. From hometown festivals and local restaurants to parks, trails, and neighborhood events, there's always something to enjoy.

The memories you make in your community are just as important as the memories you make inside your home.
